Timber Gravel boards are used to prevent fencing panels or closeboard fencing from having direct contact with damp or wet earth to avoid damage caused by moisture. When used with closeboard fencing the common procedure is to fix a 150mm long 100mm x 50mm block behind the gravel board to allow the feather edge to sit directly on top.
